The location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, as we were able to explore the beautiful Pfaelzerwald Nature Park on hiking and cycling tours. The surroundings are breathtaking, with picturesque forests and trails to discover. The nuns and staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a great value for our family. We also appreciated the availability of Wi-Fi, which kept our kids entertained during downtime.
My kids wished there was a playground on the premises for them to enjoy.

We always wanted to stay in an abbey. The nuns were very friendly and the facilities were clean and modern. Beautiful white marble hallways with a lovely breakfast room. Gardens were well attended with a serene atmosphere.
Location was remote, about 25K off main highway.

The Kloster St. Maria is a true gem. Built in 1950 it retains most of its original, serene interior decor. It is set in its own extensive well maintained walled garden in a cleared area surrounded by forest and deep valleys. It is at the edge of an old village at the end of a 5 kilometer road and has a real sense of remoteness. There are extensive forest walks around the convent and village. The sisters gave us a warm welcome and were very attentive in showing us around the guests' area and the facilities. We relaxed on a terrace in the evening sunshine admiring the view over the Pfalzwald scenery, The breakfast was very good indeed. We only stayed one night but departed on the long journey to home thoroughly rested. This would be an excellent place for rest, relaxation and finishing writing your novel.

It was very welcoming, serene and peaceful. We loved the location and setting. The food and nuns were wonderful and it was excellent value. Thanks from your Irish visitors!
Perhaps some written information in English would be a good idea. Cards and directions for restaurants, information about breakfast etc could be written out in advance. It would also help the nuns themselves. However we loved this place. Many thanks.

Staying at Kloster St Maria was a delightful experience. The hospitality was spectacular. The facilities are simple, modern and clean. The Nun's are very friendly and hospitable, though they don't speak a word of English! Would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. Very good value for money, set in beautiful grounds and very friendly Nuns.

Located in a peaceful monastery in the Palatine forests, this hotel offers a quiet and serene atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of city life. the rooms, although small, are clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the surrounding farm and forest. the shared bathrooms are well-maintained and there are plenty of them. the friendly and caring staff provides a delicious breakfast buffet, and there is an honesty bar and a coffee machine available.
Limited availability of fans made the rooms uncomfortably warm during hot weather.

Room was very comfortable. Very peaceful location that had a view of the gardens and overlooked the forest. The nuns speak very little english but have a cheat sheat of some words to help communicate. We were only able to stay one night since they were booked up for the next night but will stay multiple nights next time in order to enjoy the atmosphere and scenery.

The friendly welcome, in spite of language barrier, was wonderful. Quality of bedroom furniture and bedding was excellent and better than expected. This is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Cold supper platter was good, and breakfast very good, in pleasant surroundings. It was interesting to be able to stay in such a place, and we enjoyed a walk in the adjacent woodland areas. We had booked our stay fully aware that our hostesses would be nuns and that we would be guests in their community, we were also aware that German is the only language spoken. We enoyed our stay and will visit again without hesitation.
There was nothing we did not like, we had a very relaxing stay.

A unique and peaceful place to stay with lovely nuns and staff who have a great sense of humor. Magnificent church and large convent with beautiful views and plenty of places to sit quietly. Basic but delicious food, with coffee and alcohol available 24/7. Harleys and bikes can be safely stored. Beautiful and tranquil grounds with excellent mountain biking opportunities. Sister Barbara is a friendly gem. Low prices for large rooms with bath. Breakfast with fresh buns and espresso/cappuccino machine. Would love to go back and explore the village and surrounding area.

it was too hard for me to get my room, because the hotel administration didn't recognize my booking through Booked.net claiming it was a short-notice booking, and that there were no rooms available, and that the reservation was not confirmed, although they showed me the reservation fax they had received. after some debate, i managed to get the room.
